To prepare the turkey, I got help by my family because they have been doing it for every holiday for the last 20 years or so, so they are basically “experts” however I also found some help on recipetips.com

The first step in preparing the turkey is to remove the giblet and neck. Check out this video on YouTube on how to correctly remove the giblets and neck from a turkey: prepping a turkey. You’ll also need to rinse the inside and outside of the turkey with cold water and then pat it dry.

Sprinkle with seasoning, salt, and pepper

Don’t add the stuffing until the turkey is ready to go into the oven- Make sure the stuffing is cooled off in order to prevent bacterial growth. Insert the stuffing and then close the neck skin over the stuffing

Next turn the turkey breast side up and stuff the breast cavity, then tie the legs together.

Put turkey on roasting rack and brush with oil or butter, Roast at 325 for about 20 minutes per each pound. Your turkey is finished cooking when the thigh reaches 180 degrees F, the breast reaches 170 degrees F, and the dressing reaches 165 degrees F.

Remove the turkey from the oil and tent foil it for about 20 minutes.

Carve and eat!
